The design is very loosely based off of the cover of 'These Demented Lands' by Alan Warner (author of Movern Callar) and the title is taken from a Tori Amos song. The style is supposed to be flat and cartoonish, while the surreal colours were chosen to be blacklight responsive. The detail around the edge (viewable in Bottom View and Side View) is a strand of thorns. This was my first full-sized painting and I hadn't quite gotten the hang of small details, so there are a lot of things I would do differently if I painted this again... still, it's one of my early favorites.
